Saron Ward

Saron is situated to the west of Ammanford town and is a former mining village. It has a primary school, a shop and a pub with residential and recreational areas. There is a church and a Baptist chapel in the village.

Cwmgwili now forms part of the corridor to the M4 and the various facilities at nearby Cross Hands, but was very much a part of the mining area.  Now it is mainly a residential area with a village hall, former places of worship and a training centre for driving various vehicles.
