Saron
Saron is situated to the west of Ammanford town and is a former mining village. It has a primary school, a shop and a pub with residential and recreational areas. There is a church and a Baptist chapel in the village.
Cwmgwili
Cwmgwili now forms part of the corridor to the M4 and the various facilities at nearby Cross Hands, but was very much a part of the mining area. Now it is mainly a residential area with a village hall, former places of worship and a training centre for driving various vehicles.
Capel Hendre
Capel Hendre is situated between Penygroes and Tycroes and is a residential area with a large industrial estate servicing the surrounding area. The name of the village derived from the Calvinistic Methodist chapel established there.
Penybanc
Penybanc lies on the outskirts of Ammanford town of a mainly residential nature. It has Pisgah Baptist Chapel, a hall and various recreational facilities and open park areas.
